This drawing maps the quantity and locations of endangered languages on the planet. Each circle represents an endangered language. The brighter the circle, the more critically endangered the language. Black squares are extinct languages. The circles are grouped into 8 sections. Each section represents a continent or sub-continent. The number of circles corresponds to the number of endangered languages on that continent.
